Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. All you need is a basic understanding of how the controls work (clutch, brakes, throttle, gear shift). If you know that much, you know enough to ride with us.

  • We are a riding school, not a racing school. We run a formal curriculum with both in-class and on-track instruction. In fact, we stress in the morning brief that we want you to ride at or below 75% of your maximum ability to ensure you have enough leftover brain bytes to process what is happening and make adjustments.

  • The short answer is full-coverage riding gear, either textile or leather. There are a few nuances to this, and you can see the requirements in more detail here.

  • The majority of our students are street riders, and our preparations reflect that. Bike prep for a street bike consists of taping up your lenses and making sure the motorcycle is mechanically sound for the day. You can see a more detailed description of what is required here.

  • While the details may vary slightly from venue to venue, in general, the day will flow like this:

    1. Gates open at 7am

    2. Registration and tech inspection – 7:15-8:30

    3. Safety brief – 8:30

    4. Track opens (Advanced Group first) – 9:00

    5. Lunch break – 12:00-1:00

    6. Track reopens – 1:00

    7. Track closes – 5:00

  • Oh boy, will there be food?! We’ll have continental breakfast items when you arrive (fruit, pastries, Vermont Artisan Coffee), plenty of water, and a fully catered lunch. We’re big believers that few things build a community like breaking bread together, so we shut down all activity and gather to eat lunch and tell tall tales about how amazing we all are.

  • Canaan Motor Club and Palmer Motorsports Park allow overnight camping. Club Motorsports, Inc. does not.

  • Palmer Motorsports Park has fuel onsite. Canaan Motor Club has a local gas station right outside the main gate. Club Motorsports has a local gas station roughly 2 miles down the road from the facility.

  • It depends on the facility. All the venues have running water. Palmer Motorsports Park and Club Motorsports have new bathroom and shower facilities in the paddock area, and they are accessible to all. Canaan Motor Club is a bit more rustic. They have 2 indoor bathrooms (ladies’ and men’s), portable toilets, and an outdoor shower that draws its water straight from the local river. Without heating it.

Presently Palmer is the only facility that has electrical outlets accessible to the public, and you’ll need to coordinate with the track directly to reserve a garage bay to access them.

  • Usually, when babies get dropped, it doesn’t bode well for the child. However, by a freak set of circumstances, both Robbie and Tim were dropped at the same time, and the results were a definite improvement. Weird, huh?
