Max BMW of Portsmouth NH and Albany NY is providing Fishtail with two 2010 BMW S1000RR's for the coming season. One bike will remain in regular street trim and the other will be race prepped for use by Robbie Nigl.

For more on the S1000RR, see this review. To read about Tim's first experience on the track with the new bike, see Tim's blog post.

Fishtail Riding School is now an official licensing school for the Championship Cup Series. With over 50 sanctioned events nationally, and over $10 million in sponsor contingencies, CCS offers some of the best racing opportunities for motorcycle road racers, both amateur and experts.

We’ve been teaching all levels of motorcycle riders to be better and safer riders for years, and now we want to take what we’ve learned and bring it to the racing community. Our goal is to give each and every student the opportunity to experience every aspect of a motorcycle race weekend multiple times before gridding up for the first rookie race. The school will run the entire day and will consist of both classroom instruction and on-track training.

Items covered will include:

  • Motorcycle preparation
  • Rider gear
  • Registration
  • Pre-grid and Grid procedures
  • Starting procedures
  • Flag drills
  • And much, much more

The primary focus of our licensing school is to make sure that when you roll out of the pits for your first race, you will be comfortable knowing what to expect. Our number one priority is to produce safe racers. If you think racing might be for you, come join us. We’ll get you started on the right foot and give you the best possible foundation for success.

We will run our first race school dates May 12 and July 21

Our race school registration is now open.

NEMLEC police motorcycles

When Fishtail began training motorcycle police in 2008, we never anticipated the success of the program. Due to our connection with MAX BMW and their connection with the Cambridge, MA Police Department, we invited CPD to one of our schools. The results were amazing. In just 2 years, the CPD realized a 70% reduction in accidents among their motor cops! It was great validation for our program.

We have finalized our initial set of track days for the 2014 season. The dates include a new track, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, in Thompson, CT.

Here are the dates:

  • May 5th at NHMS
  • June 13th, Thompson, CT
  • June 30th at NHMS
  • July 10th, Thompson, CT
  • August 18th, NHMS
  • September 8th, NHMS
  • October 6th, NHMS

The first round of 2014 pricing is now complete and the track days are available for purchase. To register, see the Dates & Sign-Up page.

The High-Flyer Discount program is back this season. Riders who sign-up for five (5) or more High-Flyer Discount days save $40 per day. The days must be purchased as a single transaction, prior to our first track day, May 5th, 2014.

We are working to add days. The best way to learn about announcements is to watch our Facebook page.

Our first track day of the 2014 season, May 5th is now sold out. If you didn't get in, we're sorry. We always limit sign-ups to make sure there is plenty of open track and to maintain track safety.

As a heads up, our 6/13 date at Thompson is filling fast, so you will want to sign-up soon to avoid being shut out of that date.

We were throwing around ideas of how to make our last event on October 6, memorable, and we've decided on a bike show.  We're going to make this an audience participation kind of thing where you get to suggest categories for the show.  I'm taking the first one; I'm calling it the YGBKMYRTTATT award (You've got to be kidding me, you're riding that thing at the track?).  I'm putting this up on the Facebook page to make it simple.  The winners will be by popular vote, and we'll even have silly little trophies to hand out.  We have enough bling in the community to make this really fun, so start thinking about it now.
